Terms of Service
Last updated: July 21, 2026
Welcome to Witch Town. These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the Witch Town website at www.playwitchtown.com and the online game at game.playwitchtown.com. By accessing or using Witch Town, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. About Witch Town
Witch Town is an online social deduction card game for 4–12 players, set in the fictional town of Witch Town. The service includes:
- The game client and real-time multiplayer match rooms
- Quick Play, private rooms, AI townsfolk fill, and replay features
- Witch Town Academy tutorials, reference guide, profile, shop, and wardrobe systems
- The marketing website, blog, and related content hosted at
www.playwitchtown.com
Witch Town is a work of fiction. It is not a documentary, legal advice, or permission to accuse your actual neighbors.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Witch Town. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. By using Witch Town, you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. Accounts and Guest Access
You may access Witch Town as a guest without creating a full member account. Guest access may be more limited and less persistent than member accounts.
If you create a member account, you are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account or access token
- Ensuring your display name and profile content comply with these Terms
We may suspend or terminate access that appears compromised, abusive, or fraudulent.
4. User Conduct
You agree not to use Witch Town to:
- Cheat, exploit bugs, manipulate match outcomes, or use unauthorized third-party software
- Harass, threaten, abuse, or defame other players
- Share unlawful, obscene, hateful, or discriminatory content
- Impersonate other individuals, entities, or Witch Town staff
- Disrupt the service, including through spam, denial-of-service attacks, automated scripts, or attempts to overload rooms or infrastructure
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, copy, or redistribute game assets, code, or server responses except as permitted by law
- Attempt to access areas, accounts, or data you are not authorized to access
Accusations belong in-game. Real-world harassment does not.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any behavior that violates these Terms or harms the community.
5. Fair Play and Game Rules
Witch Town matches are governed by server-authoritative rules. You agree to:
- Play according to the published rules and in-match instructions
- Accept match outcomes, replay records, and moderation decisions made to preserve fair play
- Report exploitable bugs through proper support channels rather than abusing them
We may adjust rules, card balance, matchmaking, and AI behavior as the game evolves.
6. Intellectual Property
All game design, artwork, card portraits, narrative copy, audio, software, trademarks, and other materials provided by Witch Town are owned by or licensed to the Witch Town team and are protected by intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works from our materials without prior written permission, except where allowed by applicable law or explicit in-product sharing features (such as replay or identity share links).
7. User-Generated Content
During gameplay, you may create or transmit display names, messages, profile information, and other content (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content, but you grant Witch Town a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to use, store, display, reproduce, and moderate that content as necessary to operate, secure, and improve the service.
You represent that your User Content does not violate any third-party rights or applicable law.
8. Virtual Items, Shop, and Purchases
Witch Town may offer virtual items, cosmetics, wardrobe layers, or premium features. Any purchases will be governed by additional terms presented at the time of purchase.
Unless required by law:
- Virtual items have no real-world monetary value outside the service
- Purchases are generally non-refundable
- We may modify, rebalance, or discontinue virtual items or shop offerings
9. Voice, Audio, and Accessibility
Voice narration (TTS) is optional and disabled by default. Captions are available separately. By enabling voice or other audio features, you consent to the processing described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Third-Party Services
We use third-party services, including Cloudflare, for hosting, security, storage, and content delivery. Your use of those services may also be subject to their respective terms and policies.
Links from our marketing site to third-party websites are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for third-party content or practices.
11. Disclaimers
Witch Town is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free of harmful components. Social deduction games may cause temporary distrust among friends. That is a feature, not a warranty breach.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Witch Town and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of the service.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Witch Town and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to Witch Town at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms, suspected abuse, or operational necessity.
You may stop using the service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification — will survive.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
